Update on qualification for lightning conductor testing & inspection

Following a meeting between the lightning protection industry sub committees for both SLPTG & ATLAS and in full consultation with the NCC, Constructionskills & NSAC it was agreed that a new recognised qualification for be established lightning conductor testing & inspection which will provide the client, customer and the operatives a CSCS Photo ID Smart Card clearly stating on the reverse that they are Lightning Conductor Test Engineers, which as with all CSCS cards will provide the client, customer with a proven way to establish the competence, experience & knowledge of a person that turns up to test & inspect their lightning conductors & lightning protection systems. As previously reported this has been investigated in depth by the TG lightning protection subcommittee & construction skills over the past six months and should be available towards the later end of 2011 or beginning of 2012.
